Well, there you have it, folks. Might as well just pack it in now :) ...Apple leaks iPhone name -

-
If I wasn't a journalist and I was allowed to wildly speculate on what the new gadget might be and have, it'd be an iPhone 5 with some kind of fingerprint recognition technology.
Probably safe to bet we'll hear something about iOS 6 today though along with any new gadget Apple may or may not unveil. -

-
@matthew.keys Well, Apple did buy Authentic but biometrics on these kinds of things seem like overkill to me. -

Apple unveiled their "Passbook" at their developers conference earlier this year that acts as a mobile billfold, holding all your digital accounts for things like credit cards, Starbucks credits, frequent flyer card for your airline, and more. I am kind of expecting they might elaborate on that more today. -

-
There was some speculation that the new iPhone might have NFC built in, which is technology that makes it easier to use the phone itself to simply hover over or be near a signal that would take a secure payment, but it's widely thought that this technology won't be available just yet for the iPhone they're unveiling today. -

@anthony.derosa There'll be an adapter, but I'm sure it'll be a clunky band-aid-type thing (And the Elevation Dock people have already said they'll come up with a solution). So, yes. Just be glad Apple will do this once, unlike Palm which changed their "universal" connector 3-4 times ... -
