Tonight's early results suggest that the Tea Party is not necessarily a long-term socio-political trend. In answer to 'year of the woman': an interesting question, but not a major issue during this election in terms of the politics. There have been more female candidates than ever this year, and it would be great to see more females in office from both parties -- but gender has not been a factor in whether women are gaining office or not. This election has been about jobs and the economy. Voters choose those candidates they feel are delivering / will deliver on these issues
