@freshnick Let's hope not but it's such a difficult line that the Chancellor has to tack - radical measures to tackle the deficit without being seen to undermine economic confidence. He's been tangled in a Gordian knot - or Gordonian actually! I don't envy him one bit. -

Surplus countries definitely need to support demand. Problem is that there aren't many of them. Most countries (particularly in Europe) are now trying to rein in spending and become surplus counties, so the problem is, who is left spending? Who soaks up the production of goods and services with their demand? -
