Demonstrators in Rome set fire to two cars and broke some store windows during a protest in the Italian capital on Saturday, witnesses said.
They said the violence was caused by hooded militants known as "black blocs," who have infiltrated demonstrations in the past. There were no immediate reports of injuries. www.reuters.com -

Italian police fired teargas and water cannon to disperse demonstrators in Rome on Saturday, some of whom had set fire to cars, broke shop and bank windows and clashed with officers during a protest against global economic policies.
Witnesses said the violence was caused by several dozen hooded radicals known as "black blocs," who infiltrated the demonstration. At least one person was reported injured and taken to hospital. -
