On return from lunch, Cameron reported a clarification from his wife, Samantha regarding social contact with Rebekah and Charlie Brooks: they were only in the constituency on 23 weekends in 2008, 23 in 2009 and 15 in 2010, and they didn't see the couple more than one every six weeks. -

Cameron says he does not recall discussions with George Osborne on the BSkyB bid other than the day Vince Cable's "declaring war" on the Murdochs comments were made public, but that given they talk a lot he wouldn't rule out there having been other discussions. -
"I accept there is controversy. But the backing of two permanent secretaries and a lawyer is quite a strong state of affairs," Cameron says of the decision to transfer the bid work of Vince Cable to Jeremy Hunt being suggested by his permanent, recommended by the cabinet secretary, and cleared by legal advice. -
#Cameron says didn't know of Hunt's view on the merger before made public on 21 December - 'this was not up high on my list of issues'by philbaillie via twitter 6/14/2012 1:38:10 PM -

Jay asks about conversations with James Murdoch and Rebekah Brooks in November/December 2010, to which Cameron says: "I can't remember every conversation I have ever had, but I am clear about this one conversation I had with James Murdoch on 23 December 2010", which revolved around Vince Cable being wrong to have made his "declaring war" comments. -

On press standards: Focusing on regulatory system is better than focusing on privacy laws or other legal remedies #Leveson #Cameronby philbaillie via twitter 6/14/2012 2:56:31 PM -
Cameron and Leveson discuss the different threshold for privacy for those legitimately in the public eye, such as politicians, and those who make no effort to be public but have their private lives dragged into the public domain when it is not in the public interest. Cameron jokily refers to someone leaving their child in the pub as an example of something that may or may not be worth reporting depending on who it's about... -
