Former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi leads by over 13,500 votes in Imamganj but is trailing Subedar Das of the Rashtriya Janata Dal by over 8,500 votes in Makhdumpur. Manjhi, representing the Hindustani Awam Morcha, is contesting both seats.

Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Yadav, leads in Mahua by 1,343 votes. Incumbent MLA Ravindra Ray, who switched to the Hindustani Awam Morcha this time, is in second place.

Tejaswi Yadav, the RJD chief’s other son, is leading by around 3,800 votes in Raghopur where incumbent MLA Satish Kumar is in second place. Kumar, a Janata Dal (United) member, switched to the BJP this year when he didn’t get a ticket.

In Amour in eastern Bihar, Abdul Jalil Mastan of the Congress seems to be turning the tables on incumbent MLA Saba Zafar of the BJP, leading by nearly 20,000 votes. Mastan had won the seat in 2000 and 2005 representing other parties.

In Tikari, Abhay Kumar Sinha of the Janata Dal (United) is leading by a margin of over 31,500 votes. Incumbent MLA Anil Kumar, who is in second place, had switched to the Hindustani Awam Morcha before the election.

At least 18 protesters killed in Myanmar in worst violence since coup
Myanmar police fired on protesters around the country on Sunday and at least 18 people were killed in the worst violence since a Feb. 1 military coup, the United Nations said, calling on the international community to act to stop the repression.
