Bangkok protests

Red Shirts use children and women as their shields. What are their hearts made of?? We can see from this that they are capable of doing anything violent and unjust. Hope the government can end the protest soon before our economy collapses. By burning tires, they are also creating pollution problems. There are not being considerate of the people who lived nearby. Their clothes and houses will have tar stains all over. And if they are in the clothing business, all of their stocks would be ruined. It is so wrong what the red shirts are doing.

@Anne The red shirts are using the same human-shield tactics as the yellow shirts a couple of years ago. That doesn't mean they're not guilty, but it shows that actions have consequences, some of them unintended. The yellow shirts are the father to the red shirts in terms of tactics and strategy.

@Paul. Totally agree with you. Red Shirts are very inconsiderate. Traffic here is very jam and we do not get to go to work for few days already. They are ruining the pollution and the economy. And I think they are ready to ruin the whole country just for one person, Thaksin.

@Anne We are not using child and woman as guard/shield; it's a signal to gov "DO NOT USE FORCE". And if you want someone to blame if our economy go down, Mr. Korn (Fin Minister) himself pressed that the economy will dump as bad as -1.8% from what they projected (4.5%); that less than the coup did.

@Nobita. You cannot deny that 5 days of no work mostly all around the country will be any good to the economy. Many large events have been cancelled due to the protests. And you would blame that to the Finance Minister, Nobita?? I do not see Korn protesting so I would not think of blaming him.

If elections are forced, is it possible red shirt related parties will win? Sure..... How will they win? Same way Thaksin won in past....buy all the votes he needs at a few hundred Baht each from villagers who follow the instructions of the village "headman" paid by Thasin as well.....real democracy will never exist until education is made a priority. You will notice Thaksin's few million Baht thrown to the countryside was on free "give aways" to make him look generous....but no real effective lasting change or improvement in education. If he educates the people, then they will understand how badly he and his cronies were exploiting them

I dedicate this post to all those upper and middle class Bangkokians who are following today's developments with glee in their hearts. This chapter of the rebellion will be closed today and another one will begin immediately thereafter. In no way should anyone believe that this is the end of the Red Shirt Movement, on the contrary, we are witnessing its radicalization. Red Shirts in the provinces are mobilizing. Sorry to say but this Thai military government is out of touch. But nevermind. Now we can all get back to our
