Now that the Mitt Michigan projections are in, the real delegate-counting fun starts. Check out the 14 districts that each award two delegates (Romney gets 2 delegates for overall win) and start trying to piece it together from the map. Would be interesting sign of Santorum's blue-collar, Rust Belt appeal if some of the close counties like Kent (Grand Rapids) and Flint - Saginaw Bay (the inlet to the east) break his way. -

From NYT: Did Democrats really come out to vote in the Republican contest more than usual today? It's hard to say: Exit poll results showed that about 1 in 10 voters in Michigan today said they usually think of themselves as a Democrat. In 2008, 7 percent of Republican primary voters identified as Democrat, and in 2000, 17 percent did. -

RT @reidepstein: Ten minutes and counting for Mitt Romney and no mention or reference to Rick Santorum or Newt Gingrich...by Steve Holland via twitter 2/29/2012 3:46:25 AM -

-
Nate Silver at NYT has Santorum winning 4 districts (8 delegates) and Romney winning 5 districts (10 delegates, plus 2 for overall win) so far. Five districts too close to call, so still possible that Santorum wins 4 or all of those and takes delegate victory despite popular vote loss. -

-
There are so many county-by-county Michigan maps out there, but is there one that tries to group the counties and slice it by district, since that's how delegates are awarded? Not easy to do, since some districts cut across parts of counties, but would help tracking a ton. -
