Evening everyone and welcome to our live blog of tonight's edition of Question Time.
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 8:16:49 PM
Question Time is broadcast on BBC One at 10:35pm, and as you probably know British National Party Leader Nick Griffin is on the panel
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 8:18:02 PM
To kick things off - what do you think of the BBC's decision to invite Griffin on to the show? We want to hear your thoughts, so send us your comments now - just keep it clean people!

Question Time was filmed earlier this evening, and the BBC has released some clips from the show. I'll grab some of those links for you shortly
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 8:23:01 PM
Joining Griffin on the panel is Justice Secretary Jack Straw, Lib Dem Home Affairs Correspondent Chris Huhne, playwright Bonnie Greer and Conservative's Baroness Sayeedi Warsi - phew!
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 8:26:48 PM
If you ask me, it's a bit of a weak panel

Here's BNP leader Nick Griffin being 'welcomed' on to the stage tonight -

There is @tellingtales - it's #bbcqt
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 8:29:31 PM
Not surprisingly, there was trouble outside Broadcasting House earlier today as protestors broke through security to show their disgust at Griffin being asked on the show

Spoiler alert! BBC has released another clip from the show. Want to know what the first question is?

Nick Griffin and #bbcqt are both trending on Twitter - proof that this isn't your typical edition of QT
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 8:41:03 PM
Sample reaction on Twitter: @MatthewEyre: Nick Griffin: 'I am the most loathed man in Britain.' Aw diddums.

@steve1anderson - Just emerging from tonight's recording of Question Time. It's a show you cannot afford to miss

Only 45 minutes until the show starts now - what would you ask Griffin if you were in the audience?
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 8:54:01 PM
@tellingtales I think up until the cameras started rolling he'd say it's been good for the BNP - after however, who knows
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 9:01:38 PM
Reports suggest most of the show was in fact about the BNP, not surprisingly
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 9:02:13 PM
Griffin apparently said: "I'm the most loathed man in Britain"
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 9:02:53 PM
Griffin: "I am not a Nazi, I never have been"
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 9:03:09 PM
The first question, by the way is: “Is it fair that the BNP has hijacked Churchill as its own?”
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 9:04:01 PM
Latest is that 6 protestors were arrested and three police officers hurt
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 9:04:58 PM
Griffin: “We are the aborigines here”
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 9:07:23 PM
Majority of reports say that Griffen took a "pasting" - but of course we'll reserve judgment until we've seen the show
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 9:08:30 PM
The BNP on the other hand, said that it was "Job done"
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 9:09:11 PM
It's just amazing how big a story this is - someone on Twitter was just asking if anyone knew a pub in Cambridge showing tonight's Question Time
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 9:10:00 PM
Would be interested to hear how BBC Director general Mark Thompson thinks it went - is he on Twitter?
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 9:11:14 PM
In other news... Steve won Masterchef
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 9:13:03 PM
For those of you who don't have a TV - you can watch tonight's Question Time online and share your thoughts with us while you go -
news.bbc.co.ukby reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 9:16:29 PM
Question Time usually gets around three million viewers - wonder how many will be watching tonight's show? This has dominated the agenda today
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 9:21:34 PM
Just saw a Tweet that said the BNP website was down due to increased traffic... It's not, works fine for me.
by reuters_co_uk at 10/22/2009 9:23:15 PM
Well said @Tplrouet - just a couple of minutes until Question Time starts, surely the most eagerly anticipated edition ever
